The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education voted for students to return to in-person learning next week.
The board voted 4-3 for the plan for returning to the classroom.
According to Tulsa Public Schools, Tier 3 and Tier 4 students with special needs will return Feb. 23. Elementary school grades 4, 5, and 6 will return on Feb. 23. Elementary students grades Pre-K to 3rd returning on Feb. 25.
Officials said that middle school 6th graders will return on Feb. 23 and 7-8th grade students return Feb. 25.
Officials stated 7th grade Jr. high school students will return on Feb. 23 and Jr. high school 8th graders Feb. 25.
High school Grade 9 students will return on Feb 23 with 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students returning Feb. 25.
TPS officials said "Students will have in-person learning on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and participate in distance learning on Wednesdays."
Officials also stated that Tulsa Virtual Academy students will continue distance learning for the rest of the year.
TPS officials stated that families will continue to have the option of choosing what "learning mode their children use."
