Oklahoma Aquarium Offers Unique Trick-Or Treat Experience

With Halloween approaching, the Oklahoma Aquarium is swimming into the festivities with its annual HallowMarine.

Each night this week, kids can trick-or-treat while checking out all the sea creatures and marine life.

For an alternative to the typical dressing up in costumes going door to door, at HallowMarine, families can go from tank to tank at the aquarium.

Kids can jump on bounce houses and walk through the Aquarium to see exhibits while following a candy trail set up by sponsors.

Oklahoma Aquarium Marketing and Digital Strategist Lollie Moore says it's been going on for about 15 years, so for some families, it's tradition.

She says you don't have to plan around the weather since it's all indoors and kids can show off their costumes without coats.

There's a costume contest that you can enter through social media with this hashtag: #HallowMarine2021.

Four winners will get a year-long family membership to the aquarium.

"HallowMarine is such an important part of what we do at the aquarium because it's fun and it's learning at the same time. And it's a great opportunity for the community to come out and experience the different exhibits and letting children who are already full of wonder, have this walking among ghosts and goblins and all kinds of creatures,” Moore said. “So it's just a larger than life experience that they get to have."

The event is every night until Halloween from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
