Fewer Women Being Checked For Cervical Cancer, Study Shows

Fewer women are being screened for cervical cancer in the U.S. and certain minorities, along with low-income patients, are least likely to be checked.

A study from the University of Texas found that screening rates are lowest among Asian and Hispanic women, along with women who live in rural areas, don't have insurance, or identify as LGBT.

The most common reason women gave for not being screened was a lack of knowledge about the recommendations.
