Man Arrested In Kansas After 12 Hour Standoff With Police

A man is in jail in Montgomery County, Kansas, after a 12 hour standoff that started on March 27.

Police said they learned about several social media posts Aaron Whittley made throughout the day, threatening multiple people, and making homicidal and suicidal statements.

It was around 8 p.m. Monday when they saw Whittley fire a weapon in the air and run inside his house, police said.

Throughout the night, authorities said they used gas, robots, and drones to try to end the standoff.

At around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, authorities said they went inside the house and arrested Whittley.
