A mass vaccination site will open Wednesday in Tulsa, with the capacity to vaccinate up to 3,000 people a day for the next eight weeks. 

The COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be at Tulsa Community College’s Northeast Campus, in the Student Union.   

People coming to get their shots are asked to park in the east parking lots. The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The vaccine will be available Tuesday through Sunday for the next eight weeks. 

FEMA said this site is one of 37 like it across 26 states. More than 100 U.S. Navy Sailors are in town from San Diego to help administer the shots. 

The Tulsa Health Department said since the rollout of the vaccine, disparities are emerging. Dr. Bruce Dart said during a press conference Tuesday that the regions with the lowest percentage of the population accessing the COVID-19 vaccine are North Tulsa, Sand Springs, West Tulsa and East Tulsa. 

Part of the reason this site was chosen was because of the CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index, which looks at things like minority and socioeconomic status. While its location is intentional, this clinic is open to anyone. 

"You don't have to live in Tulsa or in this area to come utilize this facility. It is open to anyone who needs a COVID-19 vaccine. So, if you're watching this in Broken Bow or Guymon or Lawton, come on over. It's open,” City of Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said during a press conference Tuesday.  

The site will also open to people who live outside of Oklahoma.

The site officially opens Wednesday at 10 a.m. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome.
