Broken Bow Bigfoot Birthday Surprise Turns Into Big Fail

Broken Bow Bigfoot Birthday Surprise Turns Into Big Fail

What was supposed to be a fun surprise during a six-year-old's birthday party this week in Broken Bow, epically failed.

Broken Bow is in far southeastern Oklahoma and Bigfoot is a big deal there, with lots of tall tales and reported sightings.

Brett McPherson and her family went to Broken Bow for a week away from home in Oklahoma City. Their vacation fell on her daughter’s sixth birthday, so McPherson decided to incorporate Bigfoot into her daughter’s birthday party, thinking Sasquatch would be a hit.

In cell phone video McPherson shared on Instagram, you see a girl Bigfoot, named Cinnamon, peeking through the windows, carrying balloons and presents—all ready for Blaynee Mae's birthday party.

Even though the intentions were good and the parents thought the kids would love a visit from Bigfoot, Cinnamon was not met with excitement. Instead, the party quickly turned to screams and tears.

“They hit the ground like a tornado was coming. It was like they were on fire or something. We just never expected that kind of reaction,” McPherson said.

Thankfully the tears and fear didn't last long. Once the parents let Bigfoot inside, the kids warmed up to her really quickly. They visited with Cinnamon and ended up having a lot of fun.

“I like your toes,” Blaynee Mae can be heard saying in one video.

“You do?” Cinnamon responded. “I need to paint them blue, don't I?”

“She was so sweet, though. They all ended up hugging her and taking fun pictures with her, really fun, cute pictures at the end,” said McPherson.

McPherson said she hired Cinnamon through a company in Broken Bow called Bigfoot Shenanigans, which delivers Bigfoot, balloons and gift baskets.

She said the parents spent several days prepping the kids by “spotting” Bigfoot in the woods near their cabin. They even left food outside for Bigfoot, like with Santa.
