Tulsa Detention Officer Charged With Smuggling Drugs Into County Jail

A Tulsa County detention officer faces several charges and is accused of smuggling drugs and phones into the jail for an inmate.

Prosecutors say the investigation into Velvet Robinson began after meth was found hidden inside a book, inside a jail cell. Court documents say she admitted sneaking a phone to an inmate, then he would text her about where to pick up the drugs that she could then smuggle inside. Investigators say her first payment for doing so, was $1000 in cash.
