Tulsa police's homicide unit is investigating a deadly shooting Sunday morning.

Officers and Tulsa firefighters responded to the shooting call at an apartment complex just before 10 a.m. near South 101st East Avenue and East 12th Street.

Authorities found a 23-year-old James Sanchez lying on the ground outside of an apartment with a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses were taken to give statements to detectives.
