Muskogee Church Employee Arrested, Accused Of Child Sex Abuse Charges

An employee of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church and school in Muskogee has been arrested on a child sexual abuse complaint.

Police arrested Jonathan Wiedel on Feb. 20th on rape, lewd acts or proposals to a child under 16 and sexual abuse complaints.

The church released a statement saying the school was notified of a new allegation that occurred in the school's aftercare program.

They said Weidel served in the Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade and aftercare, and would occasionally substitute for other grades.

The church says Weidel is excused from all school and church duties until further notice.
